Find me in the corner
observing,
waiting for quiet
moments to say something
meaningful.
Find me wandering
the edge of unruliness,
dipping my toe in
to see
what will happen.
Find me a blue butterfly.
I'll be lost
as the world slows down
to a gentle
pirouette.
Find me wishing
I could fly.

When the day ended
I kicked my shoes off
and curled
my toes deep
into the rug.
Tea rubbed chamomile
into my core, the steam
closing my eyes
for a second. Long enough
to dream ten dreams
and wish for more.
More came
in the blackest sky, freckled
like the girl next door.

The quiet I usually crave
is everywhere and nowhere:
Pauses between sentences rest
like still lakes.
Under water beats echo
through inner light
like the tip tap
of that walk. The one
where things happen
without yet happening.
Lungs rise and fall…
rise and fall.

All the walls are waterfalls,
you get a glimpse of what they hide.
Only those prepared to go the distance
get to fully see inside.
You can see them rage
or gently flow, even cleanse your soul
with their touch.
All the walls are waterfalls. Barriers
we know so much.
